Williamson County General Sessions![]() A Recovery Court
Williamson County DUI Recovery Court offers treatment, supervision, and support for offenders who have been charged with a DUI 2nd, 3rd or 4th (on a case-by-case basis). Additionally, persons having two or more pending DUI 1st charges, or individuals currently charged with a probation violation and who are on probation for a DUI offense, will be considered on a case-by-case basis. DUI Recovery Court serves as a constructive alternative for offenders with alcohol and drug abuse problems. DUI Recovery Court has a graduated structure and follows specific guiding principles. The program includes jail time with outpatient treatment and intensive probation. Williamson County DUI Recovery Court is a team concept involving the Judge, District Attorney, Public Defender & Defense Bar, DUI Court Staff, Probation Officer, Law Enforcement, an Evaluator, and a Treatment Provider who all evaluate the individual’s progress at a weekly staff meeting. Application for DUI Court Defense attorneys may make referrals by contacting the District Attorney. Potential participants may obtain an application packet AFTER the candidate has been deemed eligible by the DA’s Office. After which, the candidate will interview with Court staff, the Probation Supervisor, and the Treatment Provider for additional assessment. DUI Recovery Court’s Impact Williamson County DUI Recovery Court gives those affected by substance use disorders an opportunity to change their life through recovery. Those who successfully complete the program restore relationships with loved ones, bring an end to generational disorders, become positive, contributing members of our community, and increase public safety by not driving while impaired.
DUI Recovery Court receives no county funding. It cost the Court $32 per day to provide services to a participant. It cost taxpayers $85 per day to house an inmate in the Williamson County Jail, where nearly all participants would end up if the program did not exist. |
